Effective Communication

Organizations are made up of people, so communicating is a fundamental skill required for organizations to be effective. However, the fast paced complex environment in which leaders must communicate is distinct from the environments in which most people learned how to communicate. Therefore a gap often exists between the communication skills that people bring to organizations, and the skill level required for organizational effectiveness. Unfortunately communication is another area that is often taken for granted. Nevertheless, the science of effective communication has been fruitful over the last two decades. Dialogue research stemming from MIT and Harvard has informed our communication programs, teaching organizations the differences between various types of communication, and how to make minor behavioral adjustments to create maximum impact. Our programs are grounded in this research, focusing on practical solutions and observable behavioral change.
